Classic ruleset

Everything Talking Island actually holds.

The Classic realm, open now. Six races, 10 roads out of them, and 99 classes waiting at the far end of those roads.

In the game's server list this realm appears as Talking Island (UTC-5).

The shape of it

A world at its own pace.

Classic is Lineage II with nothing taken off the front. Experience is not multiplied, a level is a week you spent rather than an afternoon, and the character standing next to you got there the same way.

Talking Island is its own realm end to end — its own characters, its own economy, its own clans. The launcher you already have is the launcher you use; you choose the realm at the server list when you sign in.

  • I

    Experience at ×1

No multiplier on experience or skill points. What you earn is what the world is worth, which is the whole argument for playing Classic.

  • II

    Its own characters

A clean start for everyone at once. Nothing transfers in and nothing transfers out, so a name and a reputation here are earned here.

  • III

    Open now

The realm is live and accepting characters. The Servers menu above reads its state from the server itself, not from this page.

Counted, not claimed

What this realm runs.

Read from Talking Island’s own datapack and its own start-up log — not from the game client, which carries content for every realm and would overstate this one.

99 Classes
100 Levels
6,931 NPCs
16,372 Items

Classes as this realm’s server accepted them at start-up; the rest as distinct entries in its datapack, so something defined across several files is counted once. Crow holds 147 classes and Chronos 158 on the same count. Classic is the smaller world by design, and that gap is the point rather than a shortfall.

Underneath all of it

A world with real geometry.

Every one of the 241 map regions is loaded, none refused. The ground, the walls and the drop from a ledge are all things the server knows about.

  • 01

    Full geodata, 241 regions

Loaded for the Classic ruleset with none refused. Terrain height, water and obstacles are live data rather than a flat plane with monsters standing on it.

  • 02

    Cell-level pathfinding

Monsters walk around a rock instead of through it, and they reach you by a route a person could walk. Pulling, kiting and positioning all behave the way the game intends.

  • 03

Line of sight that means something

A wall between you and a caster stops the cast. Corners are cover. It is the difference between a world and a backdrop.

Character paths

6 races. 10 paths.

Every class you can create on Talking Island, with the road it leads down. Read from this realm's own class data, so what is drawn here is what the server will make for you.

Getting stronger

Four stages, and a long way between them.

The numbers below are counted from this realm's own class data — the files its server reads — and not from the game client, which carries content for every realm.

  • 01

    10 classes you can create

Ten decisions at the character screen, spread across six races. Each one is the start of a line rather than a costume — what you pick here is the shape of everything after it.

  • 02

    34 complete roads

Those starting classes branch into 34 full progressions. Two characters of the same race and the same first class can end up nothing alike.

  • 03

    4 stages on every road

Each line runs through four class changes, from the one you create to the one you finish on. Every change is a real threshold with new skills behind it.

  • 04

    99 classes in all

Counting every stage of every line. That is the whole of what this realm's server can make a character into — no more, and none of it borrowed from another realm.

Schedules, rates and the exact availability of content follow the live server and are announced on Discord.
